A Unifying Reporting Mechanism for Genetic Diversity
Bringing together approaches to reporting on within species genetic diversity
In our paper published in the Journal of Applied Ecology, we propose a consolidated approach to reporting on genetic diversity so that all countries can maximise opportunities to protect biodiversity. As the developers of five of the different approaches, we have come together to explain how various approaches relate to each other. We present a simple scorecard framework, which captures the strengths of each component and represents a practical approach for all nations and subnational governments. It is scalable and can be used to evaluate species conservation projects as well as genetic conservation projects. Check out the graphical abstract (above) and link to the full paper below.
